Trailblazers announced

Following a competitive process, on 25 February, ODI has announced eight local authority areas that will test the Right to Control. They are:

Apply to become a Trailblazer

ODI has published a prospectus for potential trailblazers. Authorities who wished to become a trailblazer completed a proposal form.

Please note, the deadline for applications has now passed.

Jonathan Shaw, Minister for Disabled People, wrote to local authorities in December 2009 to let them know about the extension of the deadline.

The answers to questions we have received from local authorities are available in issue 4 of the trailblazers update (see below). If you have a question about the application process that is not answered here, please contact right.control@dwp.gsi.gov.uk and your answer will be shared in the next update.

Two application workshops were held on 07 and 08 January 2010. The presentation from the Right to Control team at these Workshops, and additional information on completing your bid, are available below.

Trailblazer updates

ODI is providing regular updates to local authorities, and their partners, who have expressed an interest in becoming a trailblazer. Other local authorities, and other interested groups, can download these briefings below.

Evaluating Trailblazers

ODI commissioned a feasibility study to identify appropriate methods for evaluating the Right to Control Trailblazers. Procurement for the Trailblazers evaluation will be undertaken in 2010.
